Grammy-Nominated Producer Tay Keith Found Dead in Nashville at 29

Nashville, Tennessee – Brytavious Chambers, the Grammy-nominated producer known professionally as Tay Keith, was found dead in his Nashville apartment on Thursday afternoon.

He was 29 years old. The Metro Nashville Police Department conducted a welfare check and discovered his body. Authorities have stated that no foul play is suspected. The cause of death has not been determined and remains pending autopsy results. Police have not disclosed the reason for the initial welfare check.

Career

Chambers began making music as a teenager, sharing his work on YouTube and Datpiff. He met rapper BlocBoy JB at age 14, leading to an early collaboration that would define his career trajectory.

His professional career included co-producing several of the biggest hits of the decade:

  • Travis Scott's "Sicko Mode" (2018) – No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100
  • Drake's "Nonstop" (2018) – Peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100
  • BlocBoy JB and Drake's "Look Alive" (2018)

  • Miley Cyrus's "Mother's Daughter" (2019)
  • Beyoncé's "Before I Let Go" (2019)

He received two Grammy nominations for Best Rap Song: in 2019 for "Sicko Mode" and in 2024 for "Rich Flex" by Drake and 21 Savage. His production credits also include work with Cardi B, Future, Lil Nas X, Lil Baby, Gunna, Metro Boomin, DJ Khaled, Megan Thee Stallion, Jack Harlow, and Kanye West.

Chambers founded Drumatized Music Group in 2018. He was featured on Forbes' 30 Under 30 Music list in 2024.

Rapper BlocBoy JB, an early collaborator, posted on Instagram Stories:

"Damn Cuz You Just Hurt Me Bad. We talked everyday yeen tell me you was leaving."
