Wellness Social Club to host nude sauna session on International Nude Day

View source

Wellness Social Club is set to host a new take on the traditional sauna experience with “BARE,” a clothing-optional event timed to coincide with International Nude Day on Tuesday, July 14.

The session is designed to normalize the practice of using a sauna without clothing, a custom common in countries like Finland, Germany, and Japan.

“In Australia, wellness can feel curated and externally focused,” said Wellness Social Club founder Tamara O'Dowd. “BARE challenges that perspective.”

Event Details

  • Date: Tuesday, July 14 (International Nude Day)
  • Times: 7:30 PM – 8:30 PM, or 8:30 PM – 9:30 PM
  • Location: 6 Plenty Rd, Preston VIC 3072
  • Capacity: 20 people per session
  • Cost: $66 (includes one non-alcoholic beverage)

Participants must sign a waiver before ticket purchase.

What to Expect

Attendees can use a Finnish sauna, a hot pool, and a cold plunge during the 60-minute session. The experience is self-guided, allowing guests to move between temperatures at their own pace.

  • Swimwear is optional.
  • Towels are provided (hire available if needed).

Rules and Safety

A staff member will be present to ensure a safe and respectful environment. Any attendee who makes others feel uncomfortable will be asked to leave.

Rationale

According to O'Dowd, going without clothing can improve the sauna experience by allowing heat to spread more evenly and aiding temperature regulation when moving between hot and cold.

This event follows the group’s previous offering of a sober sauna rave, continuing their focus on alternative, mindful wellness experiences.
