Election officials in Maine have completed ranked-choice tabulations for five primary races held June 9, 2006.

Governor – Republican

  • Winner: Bobby Charles
  • Runner-up: Midgley
  • Eliminated by round: 1-Libby, 2-Wessels, 3-Jones, 4-McCarthy, 5-Mason, 6-Bush

Governor – Democrat

  • Winner: Hannah Pingree
  • Runner-up: Shah
  • Eliminated by round: 1-King, 2-Bellows, 3-Jackson

U.S. Congress CD2 – Democrat

  • Winner: Matthew Dunlap
  • Runner-up: Baldacci
  • Eliminated by round: 1-Loud, 2-Wood

Senate District 4 – Republican (Bradford; Charleston, Corinna, Corinth, Dexter, Exeter, Garland, Glenburn, Hudson, Kenduskeag, Levant)

  • Winner: Chad Perkins
  • Runner-up: Guerin
  • Eliminated by round: 1-Pierce, 2-Wood

House District 58 – Republican (Belgrade, Fayette, Rome, Vienna, Mount Vernon, New Sharon)

  • Winner: Dexter Bridges
  • Runner-up: Bessey
  • Eliminated by round: 1-Harris

In ranked choice voting, the winner must receive more than 50% of the vote. These results are unofficial until officially communicated to Governor Janet Mills. Official results will be available within 20 days.

Recounts may be requested by candidates who received one of the top three rankings at the end of the penultimate round, within five business days of announcement, as per Maine statute Title 21-A, §737-A.
