New D&D 5E Supplement Brings Vampire: The Masquerade to the Tabletop

White Wolf and Ghostfire Gaming have announced Vampire: The Masquerade – Bound by Blood, a new supplement for Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition. The digital release is scheduled for July 2026 on D&D Beyond, with pre-orders opening in June.

What's Inside the Supplement

Bound by Blood introduces a playable Kindred vampire class for D&D 5E, complete with mechanics for:

  • Blood Points
  • Disciplines
  • The Beast

The product also includes a Dark Ages-themed adventure to launch players straight into the undead action.

This is a third-party supplement developed by Ghostfire Gaming in partnership with White Wolf. It will be available through D&D Beyond's Partnered Content program.

A Separate White Wolf Project

White Wolf has clarified that Bound by Blood is distinct from an in-house Vampire: The Masquerade project scheduled for announcement at Gen Con 2026.

The in-house project will use the World of Darkness system, not the D&D 5E ruleset. White Wolf Creative Director Jess Lanzillo emphasized that the Gen Con project represents the long-term vision for the franchise and is where most development hours are focused.

Playtesting at Gen Con will include:

  • A panel discussion
  • Hands-on sessions
  • A live actual play

Context and Background

Bound by Blood is an adaptation of Vampire: The Masquerade for the D&D 5E rules system. Notably, the official D&D horror sourcebook Ravenloft: The Horrors Within does not include a full vampire player class, making this a significant addition for players seeking undead roleplaying options.
