"Prejudicial to the interests of the sport."

Marco Bezzecchi has been banned from the Czech Grand Prix after striking a track marshal twice in the face following his crash from fifth place during Saturday's sprint race.

Incident and Ban

The incident occurred after Bezzecchi crashed out of the sprint race. The stewards ruled his actions "prejudicial to the interests of the sport," leading to a ban from Sunday's main event.

Race Results

Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati) won the sprint race, his first of the 2026 season, using a soft-compound rear tyre. He finished 0.241 seconds ahead of pole-sitter Ai Ogura (Aprilia), who scored his first sprint podium. Marc Marquez (Ducati) finished third, 0.794 seconds behind.

Bezzecchi's crash reduced his championship lead over teammate Jorge Martin to just 15 points. Martin finished fifth after serving a double long-lap penalty from a previous incident.

Looking Ahead

The Czech Grand Prix (21 laps) is scheduled for Sunday at 10pm AEST.
