Primary Elections Begin Across New York State

Polls opened at 6am on Tuesday, June 23 for primary elections across New York State.

Key Races on the Ballot

Local and state races include State Senate and Assembly positions, as well as New York's 25th congressional district. Several town supervisor roles are also on the ballot.

Congressional Race

  • Representative Joe Morelle is seeking to retain his seat in Congress.

Assembly Districts

  • Demond Meeks and Mercedes Vazquez-Simmons are candidates for the 137th Assembly District.
  • Harry Bronson is running for re-election in the 138th District.

Early Voting Numbers

The Monroe County Board of Elections reported that more than 9,500 people cast ballots during early voting.
