Meta Unveils Next-Generation Smart Glasses at Meta Connect 2025

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced a new line of smart glasses on September 17, 2025, at the Meta Connect event in Menlo Park, California. The collection, manufactured in partnership with EssilorLuxottica, is branded as Meta Glasses and carries a starting price of $299.

Product Details

The new lineup includes three models: Adventurer, Fury, and Starfire. All models are available with or without prescription lenses, supporting a power range of -12 to +2.25.

Design and Customization

  • Adventurer and Fury frames offer 26 customization options, including tinted lenses and frame colors such as Racing Green and Sandstone.
  • The Starfire model features a distinct design.
  • Lens options include Rx-able styles in rectangle, square, and oval shapes with clear, sun, and Transitions lenses.

Key Distinction: Unlike previous collaborations, these glasses do not carry Ray-Ban or Oakley branding, which contributes to the lower price point.

Availability

The glasses are scheduled to be available from June 23, 2026, on Meta.com in several countries, as well as at select retailers including LensCrafters and Sunglass Hut in the United States.

Market Context

Meta and EssilorLuxottica dominate the smart glasses market, holding an estimated market share of over 80% and having sold millions of units since launching their first collaboration in 2021.

The companies previously launched:

  • Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta AI glasses
  • Ray-Ban Meta Display (2026) — featuring an in-lens display
  • Ray-Ban Meta Optics (2026) — optimized for prescriptions and all-day comfort
