Ronaldo Makes History with Landmark World Cup Goals

Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice in Portugal's match against Uzbekistan on Tuesday, becoming the first player to score in six different World Cup tournaments.

The goals came in the 6th minute (assist by João Cancelo) and the 39th minute (assist by Bruno Fernandes), extending Portugal's lead to 3-0.

At 41 years old, Ronaldo is the second-oldest player to score at a World Cup, behind Roger Milla (42, 1994).

Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are the only men to have played in six World Cup tournaments. Ronaldo has scored in each of his six tournaments (2006, 2010, 2014, 2018, 2022, 2026), while Messi failed to score in 2010. Ronaldo's career World Cup total now stands at 10 goals.

The match was Ronaldo's 230th international appearance, the most in history. This tournament is likely his last World Cup.
