"Walking away from fighting hasn't been easy on me and alcohol isn't the answer."
Former UFC interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier was arrested on Sunday evening in Clayton County, Georgia, on a charge of public intoxication. Body camera footage of the incident was released by TMZ Sports on Tuesday.
Incident Details
Poirier was removed from a plane at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Footage shows Poirier arguing with gate agents and a responding officer. During the interaction, Poirier threatened to fight the officer, assumed a boxing stance, and challenged the officer to use a taser on him.
The officer called for backup. Additional officers arrived, and the situation de-escalated. Poirier was handcuffed and later stated to the officer, "You did a great job." He was booked into Clayton County Jail and released on bond several hours later.

Following the incident, Poirier posted on Instagram:
"I'm at the point where I need some help. Walking away from fighting hasn't been easy on me and alcohol isn't the answer. It has ruined my father's life and I will not allow it to ruin mine. My family deserve me at 100%. I'm trying to do everything I can to get my mind right and take the right next steps."
