Labour Party's Spelling Gaffe Mars Gillard Tribute

The New South Wales Labor Party made a typographical error in a Facebook tribute to former Prime Minister Julia Gillard, misspelling 'female' as 'felame'. The post was later corrected.

The tribute was published on the anniversary of Ms. Gillard becoming Prime Minister in 2010.

"We are proud to celebrate the first felame Prime Minister of Australia."

Gillard’s Own Spelling Slip

In a separate incident, Ms. Gillard herself made a spelling error in a recent statement defending Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan, referring to her as 'Jacinta Allen'.

Protester Confronts Gillard at Hay Festival

Ms. Gillard was confronted by a protester at the Hay Festival in Wales. The protester held a banner reading 'Julia Gillard, destroyer of women's rights' and shouted about Sall Grover. This incident relates to a Federal Court ruling where Sall Grover lost a discrimination case against transgender woman Roxanne Tickle.

Legislative Changes Under Scrutiny

Critics have linked legislative changes made under Ms. Gillard's government in 2013, which removed the definition of 'woman' from the Sex Discrimination Act, to the court's decision.
