The show took place at the Grand Casino Arena in St. Paul, Minnesota, on June 24, 2026.
Incident During Performance
Richie paused his performance of "Dancing on the Ceiling" to sit down on stage. He addressed the audience, stating he was feeling dizzy. He then stood and walked a few feet before sitting down again while continuing to sing. He performed "Three Times a Lady" from a seated position at the piano before leaving the stage.
Show Cancellation
After a 40-minute delay, saxophonist Dino Soldo informed the audience that Richie was unable to continue. The concert, which was planned for 90 minutes, ended after approximately 55 minutes.
Cause and Condition
Richie's drummer, John Paris of Earth, Wind & Fire, later stated that Richie showed no prior signs of illness and attributed the issue to dehydration. A representative for Richie has been contacted for further comment.
