A New Record in Horology
Konstantin Chaykin’s ThinKing Mystery mechanical watch has achieved a thickness of just 1.65 mm, making it the slimmest mechanical timepiece currently in production, according to the manufacturer.
The watch was first unveiled as a prototype in 2024, where it captured attention not only for its engineering but also for its rarity. A prototype sold at a Phillips auction for CHF 508,000.
From Prototype to Production
Following a two-year engineering revision, the ThinKing Mystery has been refined for commercial release. It is now offered as a limited edition of just 12 pieces, with a price of CHF 400,000 each.
This achievement comes amid an unofficial competition among luxury watchmakers to produce the world's thinnest mechanical watch, with brands such as Piaget, Bulgari, and Richard Mille all vying for the title.
