Anthropic has released an update to the voice mode of its AI assistant, Claude, expanding the range of available AI models and adding integration with external applications. The update is now available in beta across all platforms.

Expanded Model Options
Previously limited to the Haiku model, Claude's voice mode now supports the Opus, Sonnet, and Haiku models. Users can select their preferred model during a conversation or switch between them mid-session. The voice mode defaults to the fastest version of the last text chat model used.
- Free users are restricted to the Haiku model.
- Paid users can access Opus and Sonnet models.
- No changes were made to the underlying voice model; improvements such as better interruption handling are not included in this update.
Multi-App Integration and Languages
Claude’s voice mode now integrates with Gmail, Google Calendar, Slack, Canva, and Notion. Free users are limited to one connected app, while paid tiers can use multiple integrations.
The update supports longer conversations, including feedback on communication style, discussion of pitches, and brainstorming for product market research.
Multilingual support is available in beta for the following languages:
- English, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian
- Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazilian)
- Spanish (Latin America), Spanish (Spain)
Users must manually specify the language and can switch between languages during a voice session.
