Vietnamese Police Raid Uncovers Thousands of Fake Designer Slippers
Over 23,000 counterfeit pairs of slippers, bearing logos of major global brands, were seized in a coordinated raid on two warehouses in Ho Chi Minh City.

Vietnamese police recently raided two warehouses in Ho Chi Minh City, uncovering a massive stockpile of counterfeit footwear. Authorities discovered over 23,000 pairs of fake slippers emblazoned with the logos of Nike, Adidas, Crocs, and Gucci.
The seized goods are valued at approximately VND 2 billion (£57,559; $76,053).
Part of a Broader Crackdown
This operation is part of a nationwide crackdown on intellectual property rights violations, launched on May 7. Authorities have intensified enforcement in recent weeks, targeting counterfeit goods, online piracy, and trademark infringement.
The Context of Counterfeiting in Vietnam
Vietnam is widely recognized as a global hub for counterfeit luxury goods. Large flea markets, particularly in tourist districts, regularly sell fake brand-name items.
The same counterfeit models found in the raids are reportedly sold at a flea market in Ho Chi Minh's tourist district for $57 per pair.
