Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: Anticipated Charging & Battery Specifications Revealed

Information has emerged detailing the anticipated charging capabilities and potential battery specifications for Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra smartphone. Reports suggest the device will feature 60W fast wired charging and an upgrade to 25W fast wireless charging, with the launch event for the Galaxy S26 series reportedly scheduled for February 25.

Wired Charging Capabilities: A Significant Leap

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is projected to incorporate 60W fast wired charging. According to details shared by tipster Ice Universe, internal testing conducted by Samsung under laboratory conditions indicates this system can charge the device's battery from 0% to 75% in approximately 30 minutes. Factors such as ambient temperature, battery health, and device usage may influence real-world charging times.

"Internal testing conducted by Samsung under laboratory conditions indicates this system can charge the device's battery from 0% to 75% in approximately 30 minutes."

This reported 60W capability marks an increase from the 45W wired charging found in previous Samsung models, such as the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which achieved a 72% charge in 30 minutes during prior reviews and could take up to an hour for a full charge. However, the projected performance remains below that of certain competitor smartphone brands, some of which feature 80W or higher charging, reaching approximately 90% charge within a 30-minute period.

Samsung has recently introduced a new 60W charger, aligning with these reported specifications. The 60W wired charging speed is anticipated to be exclusive to the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The standard Galaxy S26 model is expected to retain 25W charging, while the Galaxy S26+ is projected to maintain 45W.

Wireless Charging Developments: Speed Boost and New Accessory

Reports indicate an upgrade to wireless charging speeds for the upcoming Galaxy S26 series, with support for up to 25W fast wireless charging. Details have surfaced regarding Samsung’s new Magnetic Wireless Charger (model number EP-P2900BBEGWW), which features Qi2 25W branding and is designed to deliver up to 25W of power.

This charger includes a USB Type-C port and a circular magnetic wireless charging puck, accompanied by a nylon braided cable. Samsung advises using a 45W USB Power Delivery charger with this device. The full 25W wireless output is projected to be exclusive to the Galaxy S26 Ultra, while the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ models may support up to 20W fast wireless charging with the new charger.

Battery Capacity: Conflicting Reports for the S26 Ultra

Rumors regarding the Galaxy S26 Ultra's battery capacity present conflicting information. Some reports suggest an increased capacity, potentially reaching 5,200mAh, which would represent a 200mAh increase compared to the 2025 model's capacity. Conversely, other reports propose the battery capacity could remain at 5,000mAh.

Other Features and Launch Date

Unconfirmed reports also suggest the possible introduction of magnetic cases and a new privacy display feature for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The launch event for the Galaxy S26 series is reportedly scheduled for February 25.
