Victoria Police Release Suspect Images in Hawthorn Assault, Reservoir Sexual Assault Investigations

Victoria Police are actively investigating two serious incidents: an assault on a woman in Hawthorn in November 2025 and a reported sexual assault in Reservoir in December of last year. Authorities have released computer-generated images of men they believe may assist with both investigations and are appealing to the public for information.

Victoria Police are conducting separate investigations into two distinct incidents in Melbourne. Authorities have released computer-generated images of men they believe can assist with inquiries into both cases, urging the public to come forward with information.

Hawthorn: Woman Assaulted on Riversdale Road

Investigators are probing an assault that occurred on November 20, 2025, in Hawthorn. At approximately 10:30 PM, a 35-year-old woman was walking her dog on Riversdale Road.

As she reached the corner of Kooyongkoot Road, an unknown man approached her, demanded money, then punched her before fleeing on foot. The woman sustained minor injuries in the attack.

The assailant was last seen running east on Riversdale Road, heading towards Camberwell. Victoria Police have released a computer-generated image of a man they believe may assist with this investigation.

Suspect Description (Hawthorn Assault)

The man involved in the Hawthorn incident is described as:

  • Caucasian in appearance
  • Aged in his 40s
  • Approximately 180cm tall
  • Of medium build
  • Possessing short, dark hair
  • Having brown, glazed eyes
  • Wearing a black hoodie, dirty light grey pants, and no shoes at the time of the assault.

Reservoir: Sexual Assault Investigation Underway

The Mernda Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team is investigating a reported sexual assault that occurred in Reservoir, Melbourne's north, in December of last year.

A 30-year-old woman reported that she was dropped off by a rideshare driver near her home just before 2:00 AM on December 4. She subsequently lost consciousness and reported waking up inside an unknown unit nearby, where a man was sexually assaulting her.

The woman managed to push the man off, left the unit – which was located on Strathmerton Street – and returned home before contacting police.

Investigation Details (Reservoir)

Investigators have noted that it is unclear how the woman was moved from the location where she lost consciousness to the nearby unit. Police believe the unit involved was unoccupied and may be frequented by squatters, with no other individuals thought to be present at the time of the assault.

The rideshare driver involved in dropping off the woman has been identified and excluded as a suspect in the case.

Suspect Description (Reservoir Sexual Assault)

Authorities have released a computer-generated image of a man they wish to speak with regarding the Reservoir assault. He is described as:

  • Of perceived Middle Eastern appearance
  • Aged between 50 and 60 years old
  • Having dark hair
  • Possessing olive skin
  • Of a thin build
  • Clean-shaven
