Two individuals died following a collision between a car and a freight train on Tuesday morning in Cressy, Victoria. Emergency services responded to the incident on Reddies Road, where the occupants of the car were pronounced deceased at the scene. The collision occurred at a railway crossing on Reddies Road in Cressy, located west of Geelong and approximately 140km west of Melbourne, at around 10:15 AM on Tuesday. A freight train was involved in the incident with a car. Aerial footage from around midday showed the freight train stationary at the location.
Casualties and Injuries
The two occupants of the car were pronounced dead at the scene. Their formal identification has not yet been completed. The freight train was carrying a driver and two additional staff members, none of whom sustained injuries in the collision, according to police reports.
