A trial has commenced in the NSW District Court concerning allegations of sexual assault at Universal Sydney nightclub in Darlinghurst. David Charles Massa, 47, has entered a plea of not guilty to two counts of sexual intercourse without consent, with the incident reportedly occurring in the early hours of June 1, 2024.
On Tuesday, the alleged victim provided testimony regarding the night's events. He stated that he had dinner and four beers with his partner at the Beresford in Surry Hills before arriving at Universal Sydney just before 10pm.
The complainant further testified that while he and his partner were seated, Mr. Massa approached them. The complainant described Mr. Massa as having a "bushy beard" and appearing homeless, noting that their initial interaction was "friendly."
