Adobe has announced updates for its video editing software, Premiere Pro and After Effects. These updates include new AI-powered tools designed to enhance video editing workflows.
Premiere Pro Updates:
- AI-powered Object Mask: This new feature allows users to select and track persons or objects in video clips. Users can hover and click to generate a mask overlay. Adobe states the feature utilizes an on-device AI model and does not use user activities or data for model training.
- Upgraded Shape Mask Tool: The redesigned Ellipse, Rectangle, and Pen masks can now be generated directly from the toolbar. Controls for these masks have been updated for more precise movement and adjustment. Object tracking with these masks is now up to 20 times faster.
- Firefly Boards Integration: Media from Adobe's AI-powered digital canvas, Firefly Boards, can now be imported into Premiere Pro.
- Adobe Stock Integration: Adobe Stock is now fully integrated within Premiere Pro.
After Effects Updates:
- SVG File Import: Users can now import SVG files, commonly used in Illustrator, into After Effects.
- 3D Parametric Meshes: The software now supports building graphics and photorealistic objects within images using 3D parametric meshes, which include cubes, spheres, cylinders, cones, tori, and planes.
