Paramount is transitioning its entire Adelaide sales operations to Melbourne as part of a business restructure. This move has led to the redundancy of eight staff members, including Cameron Mudge, who served as General Manager and Sales Director for Adelaide.
Paramount's Chief Sales Officer, ANZ Rod Prosser, informed Ten's Adelaide sales team about the decision, citing a focus on driving earnings growth and transforming the business strategy.
The company confirmed that the Adelaide newsroom will not be affected by these changes, with journalists and camera operators continuing to produce local news in South Australia. Paramount Vice President News Martin White stated there are no job losses or changes for the news team.
Cameron Mudge had been appointed to lead the Adelaide team as General Manager and Sales Director in 2023.
This development occurs amid other recent personnel changes in Adelaide broadcast media. Jeremy Pudney resigned as Director of News at Nine to join Flinders University, following previous departures from Nine Adelaide including deputy director Ben Avery and executive producer Fiona Clark. Additionally, newsreader Kate Collins' contract with Nine was not renewed as the network cut approximately 50 television jobs.
