Parliament House Evacuated Following Electrical Fire

Parliament House in Canberra was evacuated following a fire caused by an electrical fault.

The ACT Emergency Services Agency confirmed that a structure fire originated in the West Valve room of Parliament House at approximately 9:50 AM.

Staff and reporters located in the press gallery, situated within the Senate wing, were initially directed outside the main entrance before being moved to a designated evacuation point.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
