Coco Gauff's Statement

Gauff emphasized her efforts to donate and speak out, referencing a video of Martin Luther King Jr. and the need to continue moving forward.

Hailey Baptiste's Statement

Baptiste acknowledged the events occurring in the United States, stating that as a tennis player, she has no power over them but hopes for improvements and peace. She noted the visible presence of officers in Washington D.C., describing the scene as resembling a "war zone" and expressing hope that this situation would not persist.

Gauff and Baptiste are scheduled to play each other in the third round of the tournament.
