A man has been arrested following a police operation in Ipswich, Queensland. Police initiated the response after receiving a call regarding an allegedly armed man on Jones Road in Bellbird Park at 2:30 PM.
An emergency declaration was issued, instructing residents in several streets, including Jones Road, Redbank Plains Road, Jansen Road, and Johnston Street, to remain indoors. Road closures in the area led to traffic congestion.
The situation concluded at approximately 4:30 PM when a man was taken into custody. Police subsequently established a crime scene on Jones Road. The emergency declaration was revoked at 5:07 PM.
No injuries have been reported, and investigations into the incident are ongoing.
