Vice President JD Vance stated during a visit to Minneapolis that his goal was to reduce tension and disorder. He emphasized that enforcing immigration laws efficiently requires cooperation from state and local officials.

On Thursday, Vance affirmed that the Insurrection Act would not be necessary "right now" in Minneapolis, following a meeting with Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. Minneapolis has become a focal point in discussions regarding federal immigration enforcement actions.

Responding to reports about federal authorities asserting power to enter homes without a judge's warrant, Vance clarified that entry would not occur without a warrant, except in situations where officers face immediate threats and need to protect themselves.
