Lanlan Yang appeared before a Sydney magistrate, where her lawyers acknowledged a breach of bail conditions.
Ms. Yang has pleaded not guilty to four charges stemming from a crash involving her Rolls-Royce in Rose Bay, Sydney, in July. Charges include dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm. She is also accused of failing to submit to a breath test after the collision, which injured the other driver, Georgios Plassaras.
Ms. Yang had been excused from previous court appearances. She appeared in person in Downing Centre Local Court. Her counsel, Greg Stanton, stated that the bail breach was due to an address change, attributing it to a miscommunication between lawyers rather than his client's fault. The address had been updated with the Chief Magistrate, Judge Michael Allen, on Thursday with the prosecution's consent.
Judge Allen noted the significant media interest in the case. Previously, barrister John Korn, representing Ms. Yang, commented on the media attention. The case is scheduled to return to court next week.
