Nintendo has released additional information regarding its new Talking Flower interactive toy, initially previewed in a September Nintendo Direct.
Talking Flower Details
The Talking Flower is designed as a companion device, sharing some features with Nintendo's Alarmo alarm clock. Its primary functions include:
- Random Speech: The device will randomly speak several times per hour when idle, uttering phrases such as "sometimes it's nice to space out" and "is it weird for flowers to talk?"
- On-Demand Phrases: Users can press a button to trigger random thoughts or press and hold to temporarily silence the device.
- Audio: The toy includes music.
- Language Support: It will support 11 languages, including English, Italian, and Japanese, upon its launch.
- Timed Functions: The Talking Flower can be programmed to speak at specific times, such as morning greetings or goodnight messages. Certain phrases are also time-dependent.
- Environmental Sensor: It features a built-in sensor to report the room's temperature.
- Battery Indicator: The device verbally informs users when its batteries are low, rather than using visual indicators.
Launch and Update Information
The Talking Flower is scheduled for release on March 12th. Nintendo also announced a Switch 2 update for Super Mario Bros. Wonder, which will introduce a new power-up called the "bellabel flower." This update is set for release on March 26th. Price information and store links have since been added.
