Fourth Man Charged in Andrew Burow Murder Investigation

Queensland police have charged a fourth man in connection with the torture and murder of Andrew Burow, a 56-year-old Brisbane cybersecurity manager.

Mr. Burow was reported missing on August 20 last year, four days after he was last seen. In September, human remains discovered in a shallow grave over 200 kilometers west of Brisbane were tragically confirmed to be Mr. Burow's.

Investigation Details and Charges

In October, three men—aged 38, 26, and 57—faced court. They were charged with murder, kidnapping, torture, extortion, and misconduct with a corpse.

On Friday, a 44-year-old Lake Macdonald man was also charged with torture, deprivation of liberty, and extortion. He is scheduled to appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court on February 5.

Alleged Events Unfold

Police have alleged that the attack on Mr. Burow was targeted, and the 26-year-old North Lakes man among those previously charged was known to him.

Photographic evidence of Mr. Burow, described as "severely beaten," was also reportedly found.

The extensive investigation has involved eight crime scenes across south-east Queensland. Officers reportedly discovered a phone, zip ties, alcohol wipes, and the names and addresses of Mr. Burow's parents at a property in Bli Bli.

It is alleged that Mr. Burow was abducted from his Kelvin Grove home in Brisbane and taken to multiple locations across the south-east over a four-day period, between August 21 and August 25. He was allegedly murdered, and his remains were left beside a road at Maidenwell around August 26.
