Weather Alerts Issued for Southeast Texas

Most of southeast Texas is currently under Winter Storm Alerts due to an arctic front moving into the area. These alerts are active from Saturday at 6 a.m. to Sunday at 6 p.m.

Widespread freezing rain is expected to reach the Gulf Coast.

Extreme Cold Forecast

Additionally, an Extreme Cold Warning is in effect from Saturday through Monday. This warning is issued as an arctic airmass arrives, which is predicted to result in a hard freeze.

There is also a chance of below-zero wind chills on Monday morning.
