Google Photos' 'Photo to Video' Feature Receives Major Upgrades
Google Photos' "Photo to video" generation feature is undergoing a significant enhancement, introducing two key upgrades for users.
Previously, users were limited to two predefined options for photo-to-video generation: 'Subtle movement' or 'Iām feeling lucky'.
Enhanced Customization with AI Prompts
Google Photos now introduces a new level of creative control, allowing users to employ custom prompts to describe desired movement, style, or effects. This functionality is notably similar to the capabilities found in the Gemini app.

The updated interface will also assist users by providing prompt suggestions and will allow for editing the generated video even after its initial creation.
Audio Integration by Default
In another significant update, generated videos may now include audio by default. This particular feature was previously announced in conjunction with Veo 3, Google's advanced video generation model.
Availability and Usage Limits
The rollout of these new features is currently underway. The enhanced 'Photo to video' feature can be accessed within the Create tab on both Android and iOS devices. It appears alongside other creative tools such as Create with AI, Remix, Collage, Highlight video, Cinematic photo, Animation, and Me Meme.
All users will receive a daily quota for video generations. Subscribers to AI Pro and AI Ultra tiers will benefit from increased generation limits.
