HMD has officially entered the smartwatch market with the introduction of its Watch X1 and Watch P1 models, alongside six new True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earbuds in the Dub series.
HMD Smartwatches: Watch X1 and Watch P1
HMD's debut in the smartwatch segment brings two distinct models, the Watch X1 and Watch P1, each offering a unique set of features tailored for different preferences.
Watch X1
The Watch X1 boasts a vibrant 1.43-inch AMOLED display with a sharp 466x466px resolution and an impressive 600 nits peak brightness. Users will appreciate its Always On Display capability and a selection of animated watch faces. This model is also IP68 rated for superior water and dust resistance, making it robust for daily use. Color options for the Watch X1 include Gray Green, Black, Gray Metallic, and Silver Leather.
Watch P1
In contrast, the Watch P1 features a larger 1.83-inch LCD with a 240 x 284px resolution and 550 nits peak brightness. It carries an IP67 rating, providing good protection against water and dust. The Watch P1 is available in Black and Silver.
Both smartwatches operate on a proprietary real-time operating system (RTOS) and are managed through the HMD Watch App, which is available for Android and iOS.
Shared functionalities across both smartwatches include Bluetooth calling, comprehensive app and message notifications, and music controls. For health and fitness tracking, they are equipped with heart-rate and SpO2 sensors, supporting over 700 activities. Integrated features also cover sleep, stress monitoring, and active calorie tracking. Both devices utilize standard 22mm straps, allowing for easy customization.
Regarding battery life, the Watch X1 is rated for up to 5 days with Always On Display enabled, while the Watch P1 offers up to 4 days of usage. Both smartwatches charge via proprietary magnetic chargers. Specific pricing and availability details for these models are yet to be released.
HMD Dub Series TWS Earbuds
HMD has also expanded its audio portfolio with the introduction of six new TWS earbuds as part of its Dub series. The Dub X50 Pro leads this new lineup as the flagship model.
Dub X50 Pro
The Dub X50 Pro features Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity and Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) for an immersive listening experience. It offers an impressive total playtime of up to 60 hours, with the earbuds themselves providing 15.8 hours on a single charge. This model also includes IPX4 splash resistance and quad microphones for clear calls.
Other Dub Series Models
- Dub X50: Shares specifications with the X50 Pro but omits ANC. It delivers an even longer total playtime of up to 70 hours, with 17.9 hours from the earbuds.
- Dub S60: Offers up to 35 hours of total playtime and includes Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) for improved call quality.
- Dub P70: Features ANC and is rated for up to 45 hours of total playback.
- Dub P60: Provides up to 30 hours of playback.
- Dub P50: Delivers 25 hours of playback.
Philippine pricing has been announced for some models: The Dub X50 will retail for PHP 1,790 (approximately $30), the Dub S60 for PHP 1,690 (approximately $28), and the Dub P60 for PHP 1,190 (approximately $20).
