Landlord Deems Healthscope's Not-for-Profit Plan Unsustainable, Warns of Closures
Healthscope's primary landlord, Northwest Healthcare Properties from Canada, has deemed a proposal by the distressed private hospital operator's management to transition into a not-for-profit entity unsustainable.
Northwest Healthcare Properties also warned that this plan could result in the closure of facilities.
In a communication sent to Healthscope's receivers, McGrathNicol, Northwest Healthcare Properties stated its refusal to accept the rent reductions suggested by Healthscope chief executive Tino La Spina. These reductions were part of La Spina's broader strategy to maintain the business's operational integrity.
