Sebastiaan de With, Halide Co-founder, Joins Apple's Human Interface Design Team

Sebastiaan de With, co-founder of the iPhone camera app Halide, has officially joined Apple's Human Interface Design team.

De With stated his excitement about working with the team on products.

This move marks a return to Apple for de With, who previously contributed to iCloud, MobileMe, and the Find My app. His extensive past design work also includes collaborations with prominent companies such as Sony, Mozilla, Oracle, HP, and EA. De With is widely recognized within both the online Apple and photography communities.

Recent Shifts in Apple's Design Leadership

Apple's design team has experienced several notable personnel changes in recent times. Last year, Alan Dye, former software design chief, transitioned to Meta. Additionally, John Ternus, Apple's hardware engineering chief, was reportedly assigned oversight of the company's hardware and software design teams in late last year.

In recent years, some Apple designers have also departed to work with Jony Ive, a former Apple design chief who left in 2019 to establish his design firm, LoveFrom. Ive has since been involved with OpenAI on a new AI device.

Halide Mark III Public Preview Launched

In related news, Lux, Halide's parent company, recently launched a public preview of Halide Mark III, the next iteration of its acclaimed camera app.
