WBA Champion Gervonta Davis Arrested in Miami

WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis was arrested in Miami for an alleged domestic violence incident.

Miami Gardens Police issued a warrant for Davis on January 15. The charges against him include false imprisonment, battery, and attempted kidnapping, stemming from an incident that occurred in October.

Davis was arrested on Wednesday, with his bail subsequently set at $16,000 (£11,500).

Law enforcement in Miami collaborated for two weeks with the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force to locate Davis.

In a statement issued earlier in January, Miami police indicated that Davis, 31, reportedly grabbed the victim by her hair and throat before attempting to move her.
