Referendum Planned for Disputed Area; Displaced Voters' Rights Unclear

The government has stated that the resolution for the area will be finalized via a referendum. Approximately one million people who fled the region during the war are currently living in challenging conditions within makeshift camps located throughout Tigray.

It is not yet clear whether these displaced individuals will be granted the right to vote in the planned referendum.
