2026 Canberra Mustang Car Show Set to Roar into Erindale
The 2026 Canberra Mustang Car Show is scheduled to feature over 200 Ford Mustang vehicles at the Erindale Viking Club. This biennial event, organized by the Canberra and Southern NSW chapter of the Mustang Owners Club of Australia, will take place on Sunday, February 8.
A Generational Display
The highly anticipated "show and shine" event promises a spectacular display of Mustangs from all seven generations, encompassing models from 1964 to 2026. Organizers anticipate approximately 200 cars on display, with some vehicles making the journey from as far as Queensland and Tasmania. Over 2,000 spectators are expected to attend the show, which will be held at Viking Park in Erindale.

Supporting a Worthy Cause
Operating as a non-profit initiative, the show is dedicated to supporting Bosom Buddies ACT. This Canberra-based breast cancer support group has been providing vital assistance for over 30 years. Funds for the charity will be generated through various avenues including entry fees, sponsorships, donations, and a dedicated charity raffle. The club's previous show in 2023 successfully raised $15,293 for multiple organizations, including Menslink and the Heart Foundation.
What to Expect
John Perryman, the event coordinator, confirmed that attendees can look forward to a vibrant atmosphere complete with food, drinks, and ice cream. The event also provides unique opportunities for enthusiasts to engage directly with car owners and capture photographs with the iconic vehicles. Among the highlighted exhibits will be Perryman's own 2019 Ford Mustang 50th Anniversary Bullitt, a sought-after limited-run model, and fellow organizer Dave Burnett's meticulously rebuilt 1965 GT replica.
Mustang's Strong Performance in Australia
The timing of the show aligns with a period of robust sales for the Ford Mustang in Australia. In 2025, the latest-generation S650 Mustang recorded an impressive 4,052 sales, marking a 177% increase over 2024. This performance established it as the nation's top-selling sports car and represented its best sales result since 2018. The Mustang's sales significantly outpaced the combined figures of competitors such as the Mazda MX-5, Subaru BRZ, Toyota GR86, Nissan Z, and Mini Cooper Convertible. Notably, approximately 90% of buyers opted for the powerful 5.0-litre 'Coyote' V8 engine.
