Man Charged After Alleged Perth Assault Leaves Woman with Life-Threatening Injuries

Authorities have charged a man following an alleged assault in suburban Perth that resulted in a 44-year-old woman being hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

Paramedics located the injured woman outside a residence on Teakwood Avenue, Woodlands, in Perth's northern area, at approximately 1:00 AM.

Police indicated that the woman sustained a serious abdominal injury and was transported to Royal Perth Hospital for medical treatment.

A 36-year-old man received treatment at the scene for injuries to his hands. Law enforcement believes that all individuals involved are acquainted, and there is no ongoing risk to the broader community.

Arrest and Charges Laid

On Saturday afternoon, police announced that a 30-year-old man, who was apprehended at a nearby property, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Additionally, the man faces a charge of criminal damage or property destruction related to a separate incident at a Woodvale pharmacy on January 23.

The 30-year-old remains in custody after being refused bail and is scheduled to appear in court in Perth on Sunday.
