Australian Open Envisions Future with Bold Innovations
Tennis Australia CEO Craig Tiley has outlined potential innovations for the Australian Open, proposing a series of enhancements aimed at both spectator experience and managing increasing attendance.
Next-Generation Fan Experience
The proposals include an interactive glass court designed for spectators and an immersive dome featuring 270-degree screens. Beyond technological advancements, the event also plans an increased emphasis on fashion, beauty, and wellness elements.
Addressing Record Crowds and Expanding Footprint
To alleviate congestion experienced due to record crowd numbers at this year's tournament, Tiley suggested expanding the event into the Olympic and Yarra Park precincts.
Among the more conceptual ideas, Tiley also mentioned a particularly ambitious vision:
Tiley mentioned a 'translucent dome over the whole precinct.'
He acknowledged that the specific details for implementing this overarching concept are still being determined.
