Apple Explores Clamshell Foldable iPhone Concept

Apple is reportedly considering a smaller, clamshell-style foldable iPhone, according to Mark Gurman's Power On newsletter.

This concept is not guaranteed to reach the market, but Apple is exploring additional shapes and sizes for foldable devices.

In 2024, reports from The Information indicated that Apple had developed clamshell foldable prototypes while researching a foldable iPhone. Initially, a tablet-style foldable was expected to launch, but the clamshell concept has re-emerged.

Apple is also said to be considering a book-style foldable device. An 18-inch foldable iPad was previously reported as being under consideration, with an estimated cost of around $3000.

Apple's first foldable iPhone is anticipated to feature a 5.5-inch outer display and a 7.8-inch inner display.

A debut for this device is expected in the coming months.
