Wordle to Begin Reusing Previously Played Words
The New York Times announced on January 28 that the popular game Wordle would begin reusing previously played words as answers. This rule change took effect on Monday, February 2.
According to a statement in the Gameplay newsletter, the update means that while many first-time answers are still to be introduced, there will also be more opportunities for players to achieve quick solutions and experience coincidental overlaps between the game and real life.
This modification to the game's mechanics is anticipated to provide game creators with a wider selection of words and may influence how daily participants approach the game.
