16-Year-Old Charged Over Alleged Flagstaff Hill Sexual Assault
A 16-year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged sexual assault that occurred in Flagstaff Hill, Adelaide's south, on Saturday night. The individual faces multiple charges, including three counts of rape, and has appeared in the Adelaide Youth Court.
Incident Details
The alleged incident was reported to have occurred around 8 PM on Saturday at a park on Regano Road in Flagstaff Hill. According to police statements, a teenage male victim reported being approached by an unknown young male.
Police indicate the suspect allegedly requested assistance in locating a lost mobile phone in an adjacent toilet. The two individuals reportedly spoke briefly, and the suspect was not known to the alleged victim.
It is further alleged that the suspect threatened and sexually assaulted the victim inside the toilet block.
Arrest and Court Proceedings
Detectives from SA Police's Southern District and Special Crime Investigation Section apprehended a 16-year-old male from Sturt on Tuesday. The accused has been charged with three counts of rape, one count of taking a person by force, and one count of aggravated assault with a weapon.
The individual appeared in the Adelaide Youth Court, where bail was not requested. The accused is scheduled to appear in court again next month.
