Bruins and Lightning Face Off Outdoors at Raymond James Stadium
The Boston Bruins were hosted by the Tampa Bay Lightning at Raymond James Stadium, home of the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers, for an outdoor game on Sunday night.
Themed Arrivals Set the Stage
The Lightning players made a memorable entrance, arriving at the stadium wearing throwback "Creamsicle" Buccaneers uniforms, complete with pads and helmets.
Fans cheered as players, identified by their numbers and last names, entered the venue.
Adding to the spectacle, Bucs quarterback Baker Mayfield and left tackle Tristan Wirfs led the Lightning's procession, donning the hockey team's distinctive blue jerseys.
Not to be outdone, the Bruins embraced a football theme as well, arriving in full New England Patriots outfits.
Teams Boast Strong Recent Performance
Both teams entered the contest on the back of strong recent performances. The Lightning boasted an impressive 8-1-1 record over their last 10 games, securing the Eastern Conference's best record at 34-14-4.
The Bruins also arrived with a solid record of 32-20-3.
Unseasonal Chill Impacts Ice Conditions
An uncharacteristic 40-degree Fahrenheit temperature on Sunday night in Tampa posed a unique challenge for the outdoor event.
Heaters were required to maintain the ice at the proper temperature throughout the game.
