NBA All-Star Reserve Selections
LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers was named an NBA All-Star Reserve, extending his consecutive All-Star selections. This remarkable achievement marks his 22nd straight season being selected for the prestigious All-Star game.
Notable Selections and Snubs
Josh Giddey, a 23-year-old guard for the Chicago Bulls, was not selected as an All-Star Reserve. Giddey had been considered for his first All-Star selection following a strong start to the season.
Giddey averaged 18.6 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 8.8 assists per game in 34 appearances.
However, a recurring hamstring injury, which has caused him to miss recent games, impacted his eligibility. Giddey could potentially be named as an injury alternate if he recovers and another selected player, such as Giannis Antetokounmpo, becomes unavailable.
Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray earned an All-Star berth. Other notable players who were not selected include:
- Michael Porter Jr. (Brooklyn Nets), who is averaging 25.6 points and shooting 39.8 percent from three-point range.
- Kawhi Leonard (Los Angeles Clippers).
- James Harden (Los Angeles Clippers).
