Rafah Crossing: Conditions for Opening Differ

The Israeli government announced in December that the Rafah crossing would open to allow Palestinians to exit Gaza.

However, Egypt stated that the crossing's opening would only occur if movement was permitted in both directions, enabling the return of tens of thousands of Palestinians who had departed Gaza.
