Despite the Switch's new company record, the PlayStation 2 remains the highest-selling console across the entire industry. By March 2012, its sales had already exceeded 155 million units, a figure that has since reportedly increased to 160.63 million by 2024. The Nintendo Switch 1 continues to be sold globally, with no current plans announced for ending its production, even with the introduction of Switch 2.
