Jack Doohan Joins Haas F1 Team

Jack Doohan has signed with TGR Haas F1 Team as a reserve driver for the 2026 Formula 1 season. The team announced the signing on Tuesday, stating that Doohan will join Ryo Hirakawa as reserves for the American team.

A 23-year-old from Australia, Doohan previously served as a reserve driver for Alpine in 2023 and for most of 2024. He participated as a team driver in seven races, including one in 2024 and the first six races of 2025, before being removed from the lineup. His best finish during the 2025 season was 13th at the Chinese Grand Prix on March 23.

Alpine Tenure and Departure

Alpine and Doohan mutually agreed to part ways on January 13, allowing him to pursue other career opportunities, despite still being under contract at the time. Alpine subsequently replaced him with Franco Colapinto of Argentina, who is set to remain with the team in 2026.

After his demotion, Doohan continued his involvement with Alpine as a test and reserve driver. Alpine concluded the 2025 F1 constructors' standings in last place among the 10 teams. Doohan had been part of the Alpine organization since 2022, following his progression through the Red Bull Junior program from 2017 to 2021.

Doohan's Statement and Outlook

In a news release on Tuesday, Doohan stated:

"I'm thrilled to be joining TGR Haas F1 Team. It's the ideal place to continue my Formula 1 career."

He also extended his gratitude to the team for the opportunity and expressed his eagerness to begin working towards a successful season.

The 2026 F1 season is scheduled to commence on March 8 with the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.
