US Fighter Jets Deployed to Jordan Air Base
Satellite imagery confirmed the recent deployment of US fighter jets to Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan.
Images from February 2 show twelve F-15 fighter jets positioned on the runway. Other aircraft observed at the base include an MQ-9 Reaper drone and multiple A-10C Thunderbolt ground attack aircraft.
Justin Crump, CEO of risk and intelligence company Sibylline, commented on the deployment.
He stated that this contingent of aircraft provides a "backstop" to defend the region against any potential retaliatory actions by Iran or its regional allies.
Crump added that the United States already possesses substantial airpower on land and at sea in the region, capable of conducting numerous daily attacks against Iran.
