Penn State Hockey Forward Gavin McKenna Charged After Alleged Altercation
Penn State men’s hockey forward Gavin McKenna, 18, has been charged following an alleged altercation that occurred late Saturday night in downtown State College. State College police filed the charges after receiving a report at 10:35 p.m. regarding an incident on the 100 block of South Pugh Street.
The Charges
McKenna faces multiple charges stemming from the incident:
- Felony aggravated assault: defined as attempting to cause serious bodily injury or causing injury with extreme indifference. If convicted, this felony charge carries a potential prison sentence of up to 20 years.
- Misdemeanor simple assault.
- Two summary offenses for disorderly conduct and harassment.

During the alleged incident, McKenna reportedly assaulted an unidentified individual, resulting in the victim sustaining a broken jaw.
