IDF Targets Hamas Nukhba Commander in al-Mawasi

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has announced a strike in al-Mawasi that targeted Bilal Abu Assi, whom they identified as a platoon commander within Hamas's elite Nukhba forces.

The IDF alleged that Abu Assi had led the attack on Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7, 2023.

The IDF further alleged that Abu Assi was likely involved in holding deceased hostages during the conflict, in addition to his purported role in leading the assault on Kibbutz Nir Oz during the widespread attacks of October 7, 2023.
