Minnesota United Signs James Rodríguez

Rodríguez, a Colombian international, joins Minnesota United from Club León in Liga MX. His previous clubs include European giants such as Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, AS Monaco, and Everton.

Internationally, Rodríguez has represented Colombia at various youth levels and the senior national team, making his debut in 2011. He notably participated in the 2014 and 2018 FIFA World Cups and is expected to captain Colombia in the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup. His individual accolades include earning the Golden Boot at the 2014 World Cup for scoring six goals and being named to the FIFA World Cup All-Star Team. He also recently received the Golden Ball at the 2024 Copa América.

His professional career began in 2006 with Envigado FC. He subsequently played for CA Banfield, FC Porto, AS Monaco, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich (loan), Everton, Al-Rayyan, Olympiacos, and São Paulo.
