The 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics began with an opening ceremony on Friday, showcasing national team uniforms.
The Winter Olympics are scheduled to run through February 22, featuring 116 medal events, including the debut of ski mountaineering. The Paralympics will follow from March 6 to March 15.
Opening Ceremony Uniforms
Team USA
Ralph Lauren designed Team USA's outfits, marking the tenth consecutive Olympic Games for the brand. The uniform includes a winter-white wool coat with wooden toggles, wool trousers, an American flag intarsia wool sweater, a red, white, and blue intarsia knit hat and mittens, a leather belt, and suede alpine boots with red laces.
All items for Team USA were manufactured in the United States.
Team Canada
Lululemon designed Team Canada's outfits for the third time, focusing on innovation and inclusion. The uniforms feature maple leaf designs and a topographic map print, with colors ranging from deep red to iceberg-inspired greens and blues.
Team Mexico
Charly provided Team Mexico's uniforms. President Claudia Sheinbaum led the flag ceremony for the delegation.
The Mexican Olympic Committee stated these outfits symbolize hard work, passion, and Olympic commitment.
Team Great Britain
Ben Sherman designed Team GB's uniforms for the fourth consecutive Games, collaborating with Olympic medallist Tom Daley on hand-knit scarves and hats for flagbearers. The designs draw inspiration from the Dolomite Mountains, incorporating heritage checks and Fair Isle knitwear.
The outfit includes a wool dogtooth topcoat, a mock-neck sweater with Union Flag motifs, sweat joggers, a scarf, a hat, and Vibram-soled winter boots.
Team Italy
EA7 Emporio Armani designed Team Italy's outfits, continuing a partnership with the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) and Italian Paralympic Committee (CIP) that began in 2012. The collection includes a milky white down jacket, thermal ski jacket and trousers, and an oversized bomber jacket with an "Italia" print.
Team Mongolia
Goyol Cashmere designed Team Mongolia's ceremonial outfits, inspired by attire from the 13th-15th century Great Mongol Empire. The deels are made with Mongolian cashmere, silk trim, and embroidered traditional horn motifs. Casual ensembles feature cashmere knitwear with motifs of the Mongolian ger and nomadic life.
Team Germany
Adidas designed Team Germany's outfits, aiming to create kits that address winter sports challenges and reflect the spirit of the Games.
Team Brazil
Moncler, in collaboration with Brazilian designer Oskar Metsavaht, designed Team Brazil's outfits.
This marks Moncler's return to outfitting a national ski team since the 1968 Grenoble Games.

Le Coq Sportif provided Team France's outfits, emphasizing technical expertise and comfort. The designs combine elements from Paris and Milan, featuring a tricolor motif inspired by the landscape and mountain peaks.
